The U.S. Congress passed the Recovery Act to help protect American jobs and get our economy moving again. To make sure American workers benefit from it, they included a requirement that infrastructure projects funded with taxpayer money must use American made products.

Now some big corporations that have moved their operations - and American jobs - overseas are pressuring the Congress and the Administration to grant them waivers so they can receive taxpayer dollars for products built in China and India.

Dear Member of Congress, I believe in keeping good-paying American jobs here at home. The "Buy American" provision in the Recovery Act is a smart way to support our country's domestic manufacturing jobs and get our economy moving again. In these tough economic times, millions of Americans depend on manufacturing jobs to pay their mortgage and buy groceries for their families. When investing in rebuilding our nation's local water infrastructure, we shouldn't be using American taxpayer dollars to subsidize companies that flee our country and ship our jobs overseas. Please support the "Buy American" provision for products that are part of our nation's investment in our water infrastructure. Thank you for your attention to this important issue.
